Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum one year culinary experience in a busy restaurant or banquet kitchen
  • ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised
  • weekend availability
  • physical ability to routinely lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move over 50 pounds
  • adherence to safety and cleanliness standards
  • compliance with attendance policies
  • willingness to work first shift hours
  • participation in departmental meetings and trainings

Job Qualifications

  • Previous culinary experience of at least one year in similar volume restaurant or banquet kitchen with successful results
  • ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised
  • willingness to follow directions and seek clarifications
  • skilled in safe knife handling and basic kitchen equipment operation
  • experience in stock, soup, sauce, or dressing preparation preferred
  • ability to maintain calm and professional demeanor under pressure
  • Serve Safe certification or similar preferred
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • related culinary experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare full dishes or specific menu components following recipes and presentation guidelines
  • utilize various cooking methods such as poaching, braising, charbroiling, searing, and frying
  • maintain organization and cleanliness standards within the kitchen area
  • follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and grains including proper storage
  • participate in departmental meetings and daily rehearsals
  • comply with AHC hospitality policies and procedures
  • assist guests and provide exceptional service beyond expectations
