Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- good communication skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment and tools
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
- adherence to safety and health regulations
- valid Food Handler's permit or willingness to obtain
- friendly and positive attitude
- reliable and dependable work ethic
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule
- exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- have good communication skills and ability to take direction
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- possess the ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- have or be able to obtain a Food Handler's permit
- be physically capable of standing for up to 8 hours and handling bakery trays and items of various weights
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated items
- receive, inspect, and log bakery shipments for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping and ensure work area sanitation
